Custom Software Development
Software built around the way your business actually works — not the other way around.
Request a consultationOff-the-shelf software fits most of most businesses. The remaining part — the workflow that is specific to how you win, the integration between two systems that were never meant to talk, the customer portal your competitors do not have — is where custom software earns its cost. We build that part.
Our team designs and ships web applications, mobile apps, internal tools, customer portals, and the integrations that hold them together. We work in modern, widely-supported stacks — TypeScript and React on the front end, Python or Node on the back end, PostgreSQL for data, cloud or container deployment — chosen so that any competent developer can maintain what we build. You own the code and the infrastructure from day one.
Increasingly, the software we build has AI inside it: a search box that understands questions, a form that fills itself from an uploaded document, a dashboard that explains its own numbers. We design for that from the start rather than bolting it on later.
This is for you if
- You are running a critical process on spreadsheets, email, and manual hand-offs.
- Two systems you depend on do not integrate, and someone re-keys data between them.
- You have a product idea and need a working prototype to validate it with customers or investors.
- Your customers need a portal, app, or self-service tool your current platform cannot provide.
Custom Software Development: what's included
Web applications and portals
Customer portals, internal dashboards, booking and ordering systems, and line-of-business applications built with modern frameworks and designed for the people who will use them every day.
Mobile applications
iOS and Android apps for field teams, customers, and operations, built with cross-platform tooling where it fits and native where performance demands it.
Integrations and APIs
Connecting your CRM, accounting, e-commerce, scheduling, and industry-specific systems so data flows automatically and nobody types the same thing twice.
Rapid prototyping and MVPs
A working product in weeks, built to be shown to real users and then either extended into production or thrown away cheaply once it has answered the question.
Product planning and UX design
Requirements workshops, user flows, wireframes, and clickable prototypes before development starts, so the build is scoped around what users need rather than what was easiest to imagine.
Architecture and technical review
System design for new products, and independent review of existing ones — where it will break as it grows, what it will cost to run, and what to fix first.
How an engagement works
Scope
We define the first release together — small enough to ship in weeks, complete enough to be useful on its own. Everything else goes on a prioritized backlog.
Design
Wireframes and a clickable prototype you can react to before a line of production code is written. Changing your mind here is cheap.
Build in the open
Working software every two weeks, deployed to a preview environment you can use. Tests, code review, and automated deployment from the first sprint.
Launch and support
Production deployment with monitoring, a handover of code and documentation, and a support agreement if you want one.
What you walk away with
- A working application in production, with the source code and infrastructure in your name.
- Automated testing and deployment so future changes are safe and fast.
- Documentation a new developer can onboard from.
- A prioritized backlog for the next release, with estimates.
Frequently asked questions
What technologies do you build with?
TypeScript, React, and Next.js on the front end; Python (FastAPI) or Node on the back end; PostgreSQL for data; containers on Kubernetes or a managed cloud service for hosting. We choose mainstream, well-supported tools deliberately so you are never dependent on us to maintain the result.
Do we own the code?
Yes, fully. The repositories, the cloud accounts, and the infrastructure are set up in your name from the start. There is nothing to hand over at the end because it was yours throughout.
How do you price a project?
Fixed price for well-defined scopes such as prototypes and integrations; time and materials with a monthly cap for products that will evolve. Either way you see the estimate before committing and the burn every two weeks.
Can you take over an existing codebase?
Yes. Project takeovers, rescues, and modernization of software another team built are a significant part of our work — see our legacy modernization service for how we approach it.
How quickly can you start?
Discovery can usually begin within two weeks of a signed agreement, and a prototype-sized engagement ships four to eight weeks after that.
